# How do I buy stock?

You can buy stock in 2 specific ways on Grifin: **Automatically** and **Manually**.

**The first way: Automatically**

If you want Grifin to **automatically buy you stock where you shop** each week, follow these steps:

1\. Open Grifin, 

2\. Click the icon in the top left corner to open the left-side menu,

3\. Click "Investment settings,"

4\. Make sure "Buy stock where you shop" is checked ON.

**The second way: Manually**

If you want to **manually buy additional shares** of stock in a company Grifin, follow these steps:

1. Click the "Search" bar at the top of your Grifin app
2. Search for the company you want to buy and click on it
3. Click the "Buy" button (it's a circle with a plus sign "+" on it)
4. Type in how much stock you want to buy
5. Click the green "Buy" button at the bottom,
6. Confirm and wait for your stock purchase to process!

Once you’ve confirmed your stock buy, you can track the progress of your order by clicking the "Activity" tab on the bottom menu bar! If you place your buy order while the stock market is open (between the hours of 9:30am - 4:00pm Eastern time), your order should process shortly after you placed it.
