How does Grifin's Referral Program work?

We enjoy issuing cash rewards to customers who refer friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to Grifin to help them start their investing journey. Since launching our referral program in June, 2023, we have awarded over $150,000+ to Grifin customers!

How much can you earn?
You can earn up to $1,000 per year just from referring friends to Grifin!

How does it work?
Share your unique referral link (or code) with as many friends as you like. Then, they sign up for Grifin and deposit $5 (or more) to their Grifin account. When their deposit successfully clears, you'll both be issued your rewards within 3 business days!

Step 1:

Go to the Home tab and tap on the green rectangular button in the middle of your screen. This will reveal your unique referral link and code, which you can then tap "Share link" to share Grifin with your friends, family, colleagues - anyone who you think should join Grifin!

Step 2:

Your friend downloads the Grifin app, they sign up completely, and they deposit $5 to their Grifin account. If they did note click your unique referral link, you can simply tell them to click the "Claim your referral code" button at the very top of the left side menu instead! Image below:

Step 3:

After your friend's $5 deposit successfully clears (can take 1-3 business days), you're all set! Your and your friends' awards will then be issued to your Grifin accounts within 3 business days after their deposit successfully clears on their Grifin app.

Friends can deposit or transfer their $5 to Grifin in any of the following 4 different ways:

• They can click the "Add money" button on their Home or Banks page (note: deposits typically take 1-3 business days to fully clear, depending on the speed of their bank), or
• They achieve $5 or more in weekly automatic stock purchases* (Note: Your friend's weekly automatic stock purchase can take between 5-10 business days to fully clear), or
• They achieve $5 or more in weekly "Add to Investable Cash" transfers (friends can toggle this feature to the on position in their Investment Settings, or
• During sign up, they invest $5 or more in stocks from their past transactions!

After your friend links a bank account and a credit card, they go about their normal spending / shopping that they already do, and Grifin automatically withdraws $1 to invest in each of the places they transact with once per week!** Your friend can check to make sure their weekly automatic stock purchases are working by turning the "weekly investment" button to the ON position, as this GIF shows: 

You and your friend will both get a push notification on your Grifin app when your friend successfully completes the steps above. Example below:



*NOTE #1: Your friend's weekly automatic investment may take up to 5-7 business days to fully clear due to industry-known bank deposit settlement periods and stock purchase settlement periods. So, please sit tight, as there may be some time before you both receive your cash rewards!

**NOTE #2: Your friend does not have to do $5 in weekly automatic stock purchases all at once! As long as your friend eventually accrues $5 worth of successful weekly automatic stock purchases on Grifin, it will trigger the reward bonuses for you and them. For example, if your friend does $2 in weekly automatic stock purchases this week, and then $3 in weekly automatic stock purchases the next week, this adds up to $5 -- so you both will have the bonuses trigger for you once your friend reaches $5!
