Is Grifin safe? What security measures are used to protect my account? How legitimate is Grifin?

The security of our 500,000+ community nationwide is our top priority at all times. There are several specific, sophisticated methods we employ to help keep our community as safe as we possibly can:

  • Grifin securely links customers' banks and cards through Plaid, a trusted financial aggregator used by over 12,000+ banks & financial institutions and over 100 million customers worldwide. Plaid employs numerous safety measures to give you confidence that your information is kept as safely as possible.
  • All data in transit and at rest is encrypted using industry-standard security protocols. Grifin uses HTTPS/TLS/SSL measures for data in transit, and AES-256 encryption for stored data.
  • Access control methods involve biometric authentication, passwords, and PIN codes.
  • Multi-factor authentication is employed for financial actions and stock buying / selling.
  • Extra security is provided by our brokerage provider Alpaca Securities, LLC, a US-based broker that supports commission-free API stock trading. Alpaca adheres to the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) for customer asset protection, providing insurance coverage up to $500,000 in asset value for each Grifin account, with a $250,000 cash limit.
  • In-app security features, firewalls, and proactive threat detection are augmented by regular cybersecurity training for employees.
  • We ensure data security through daily backups and strategic redundancy measures to mitigate the impact of data loss or breaches.
  • Regular employee training in secure data handling.
  • Grifin collaborates with compliance and legal experts to adhere to US federal financial regulations and data protection laws.
  • Grifin is licensed with Interest Financial, LLC, an SEC-Registered Adviser.
