What if I don’t want to invest in a company I shop at?

Learn how to customize the companies you'll invest in with Grifin.

So just because you spend money at a company doesn't necessarily mean you want to own their stock? Easy enough! You can turn off any company you don’t want to invest in. We actually have a lot of people who do this for companies they don’t personally align with but have to shop at, like Gas Stations or Airlines.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open your Grifin app.

  2. Go to your Home screen, if you’re not already there.

  3. Click on the Search icon in the top right corner.

  4. Search for the company you don’t want to invest in.

  5. Click on that company’s logo to go to their Company Profile Page.

  6. Click on the icon in the top right corner with three horizontal bars and a checkmark.

  7. Select the “Disable [this company]” button to confirm. This selection will apply the next time you shop at this company.

By doing this, you’ll no longer invest in this company. However, if you've already shopped there, we can't stop an investment in progress. You can always sell their stock once you own it.

You can view all of the companies you’ve decided you don’t want to invest in on your Settings page.
