Though we're bummed to see you go, we hope you can one day join us again in the future and resume enjoying all of Grifin's current and future member benefits when the time is right.
Before you cancel your membership and leave Grifin, you must first sell all of the stock you own for cash, withdraw the cash to your bank, and then disconnect your banks to ensure you receive your funds properly:
Step 1: Press the "Sell" button on each of the stocks you own and sell all of your stock,
Step 2: Wait 1-2 business days for the cash to appear in your Grifin account,
Step 3: Once the cash arrives in your Grifin app, tap the "Withdraw" button near the top of your Home tab.
Quick Tip: Don't see a "Withdraw" button on your Home tab? It means you don't have a Funding Source connected. Click "Banks" in the bottom menu, and under the "Funding Source" section, add the bank account you'd like to withdraw your funds to (ideally, this is the original bank account you linked to Grifin when you first joined).
Step 4: Wait 1-3 business days and the cash will arrive to the bank account you have linked to Grifin (this depends on the speed of your bank).
Important tax note: When you sell stock, it may be considered taxable activity by the US Federal Government (Grifin is licensed with an SEC-registered company, which means we are federally regulated). In March of each new year, if you did have taxable activity, you will receive a tax form PDF in the "Statements & Tax documents" section of your Grifin app for tax filing purposes. Please keep your Grifin app installed and stay subscribed to our emails to ensure you get notified if you do receive a tax form.
After you've sold all your stock and the cash has arrived to your bank, you must disconnect all the bank accounts you have connected in your "Banks" tab to stop investing on Grifin. Please click the red trash can icon and delete each bank that you see.
Now that you've disconnected all your bank accounts from Grifin, you may proceed with cancelling your subscription, which will deactivate your Grifin account:
Step 1: Open the left side menu and click "Manage subscription"
Step 2: Click "Cancel subscription" and follow the on-screen prompts to cancel
If you run into any errors or issues during any of the above steps, please send our dedicated Customer Support team an email at support@grifin.com.
