To withdraw cash from your account, follow these steps:
-
Click "Banks" in the bottom right corner of your Grifin app
-
Make sure you have the original "Funding source" (bank account) connected that you linked when you first joined Grifin
- If you don't, read item #4 in this article to resolve.
- Click the "Withdraw" button near the top-middle of the page
-
Enter the amount you'd like to withdraw or select "Withdraw All"
-
Click the "Withdraw" button on the bottom
It will take 1-3 business days for this withdrawal to arrive to your linked bank account, depending on the speed of your specific bank!
If you don't have cash to withdraw, but you do want to withdraw some (or all) of your total account value, you must first sell the stock you own for cash. Click the "Sell" button on the page of the company (or companies) that you'd like to sell your shares.
Why does my "Cash Available to Withdraw" not match up with the "investable cash" amount on my Home screen?
- Did you recently sell stock for cash?
If you did, it takes 1-2 full business days for the cash from the stock sale(s) to become available in your Grifin account, which you can then withdraw to your linked bank account. - Did you deposit cash to Grifin at any point in the last 7 days?
If you did, it takes 6 full business days for your recently deposited cash to become available again to be withdrawn to your bank account. Just like selling stock, this settlement period is imposted by US federal regulatory bodies as a requirement for banks to ensure your deposit successfully and legitimately clears.
You can read more here. These are both requirements aimed at protecting consumers against financial fraud. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to speed up this process, as it is imposted by US federal requirements. So, please check on your account again in either 1 business days or 6 business days, depending on which of the above apply to your account!
